MentorMate Expands Global Operations to Latin America
MentorMate has broadened its reach into Latin America with its acquisition of Paraguay-based Software Natura to better serve its clients and enhance delivery capabilities.
Minneapolis, MN, January 17, 2023 /PRNEWS/ — As part of its continued global expansion, MentorMate recently acquired Paraguay-based custom software development company Software Natura to increase its delivery capabilities in Latin America. The acquisition comes after a yearlong partnership between the two companies.
“Through working with Software Natura this past year, we really appreciated the level of skill and stability they provide when working with our U.S.-based clients,” says MentorMate COO Craig Knighton. “Their commitment to global delivery excellence is exactly what made us pursue bringing them into our larger organization.”
Founded in 2014 by Sebastian Ortiz-Chamorro, Software Natura has around 100 team members across development, design, and cloud services. Additionally, the company’s robust data science capabilities further amplify MentorMate’s Data Center of Excellence. About 75% of Software Natura’s staff works exclusively with U.S.-based clients, several of whom have worked with the company since its early days.
“Before starting Software Natura, I lived in Minnesota for several years and worked with clients in healthcare, energy, and e-commerce,” says Ortiz-Chamorro, who is now MentorMate VP Engineering, Latin America. “That experience helped me understand the quality that clients expect from their technology investments. At both Software Natura and MentorMate, quality has been the main pillar since day one, and we’re all very excited to join a team whose values align so closely with ours.”
In addition to his work with Software Natura, Ortiz-Chamorro is also a professor and researcher at the Catholic University of Asunción. This academic connection allows Software Natura to hire developers steadily out of school and help them grow their careers.
Software Natura’s Asunción office now serves as the primary delivery center for MentorMate Paraguay. It brings the total number of MentorMate’s global offices up to eight.
“As we continue to expand and bring new geographies online, we always keep the needs of our clients top of mind,” says MentorMate Founder & CEO Björn Stansvik. “In the case of MentorMate Paraguay, that means increasing the number of working hours we have available each day. Since Paraguay is now our closest delivery center to the U.S, it not only compliments our overlapping work day in Bulgaria, it also allows us to better serve clients in the Pacific and Mountain time zones.”
